My passion for supporting people with disabilities began on the grounds of the Stockton
Developmental Center, where I spent eight years as a special education teacher and program
specialist. At that time, services for our students were confined within a series of locked doors
inside the center. I was able to work alongside a team of equally passionate teachers, and
together we developed creative opportunities to teach life skills within the natural environment.
We challenged the status quo by taking our students into the Stockton community to utilize life experiences as a teaching method. We were driven by a collective passion for seeing our
students succeed. That passion led the way to the development of CVTC, and it remains the soul
of our organization today. Our mission will always be to support people in achieving their
potential.
Joann Jordan is the Chief Executive Officer of Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC), one of the leading businesses in the central valley that provides services to adults with intellectual disabilities. She has over 18 years of experience with CVTC, and as CEO, she oversees the company’s administrative, student and consumer services, financial operations, human resources, expansion, and diversification of services. She also facilitates CVTC’s Board of Directors, Executive Team and Corporate Management Team where she actively works towards achieving program service improvement, resource utilization and risk management.
Prior to her role as CEO, Joann has held several positions within the company such as Human Resources Director, Human Resources Coordinator, Administrative Office Assistant and Instructor which has expanded her knowledge and range of skills contributed to the company’s success.
